Open Web Design

Open Web Design was formed after a split between the founders of Open Source Web Designs. Later Open Web Design was sold and ads started appearing within templates without the approval of the authors. Open Designs was formed in response and seems to be an attempt to finally have a site owned and operated by the community of contributers. Hopefully this new site will avoid the controversies of the past.

I recommend Open Designs. It is owned and operated by The Open Design Community, a nonprofit organization headed up by a board of people who have been involved in the free template community. Several of the designers whose templates I follow have endorsed this new site (e.g. Jay, Andreas).
