FOAF stands for friend-of-a-friend. It’s a semantic-web format for describing people and the relationships between them.
There is a quite a bit of semantic-web data available on the web. But you won’t notice it unless you keep an eye out for it. The following firefox extensions can give you semantic information about pages you are browsing.
I started a new job today. I’m now a postdoctoral researcher at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), Galway. I’ll be working with John Breslin on the Lion project doing research related to the semantic web. I’m really looking forward to getting back into research and I’ll be posting more details of my research as it progresses.
