Barcamp Galway is fast approaching (September 22nd). Check out the wiki [1] for details.

If you’re planning on coming, please register. You can register either by signing up at the wiki [2] or by emailing barcampgalway at gmail.com. I know there are people who are planning to attend but they haven’t registered. You can just turn up on the day, but registering helps us with planning, organizing food etc.
Give a talk
At the moment there are around 55 attendees signed up but only around 10 people have volunteered to give a talk. The Barcamp culture has a strong focus on participation. Anybody can give a talk about any topic they want. From the Barcamp description (emphasis mine):
At BarCamp, anyone can present. In fact, if this is your first time at BarCamp, presenting is actively encouraged. Talks will typically be 15-20 minutes followed by 15 minutes Q&A / discussion but talks can be as short or as long as you like. You can use PowerPoint slides, or forego slides altogether. Talks can be technical or non-technical.
So don’t be shy, if you are interested in giving a talk just add it to the wiki or email us. The more you participate the more rewarding your Barcamp experience will be.

Help us spread the word
Finally, help us spread the word if you can. Post about Barcamp on your blog and tell people who might bt interested about it. If you’re a Barcamp regular, try and recruit one person who has never attended before.
